Hola 2014!

In the hype of Season 9, I was once again a huge fan of CW TV series: Supernatural.

I got into drawing fan-art in June 2013 in hope that one day I could present them to the intended person and see them get excited about it.

Out of the 'blue', I started watching Bondi Rescue in April 2014 and the boys in blue got me hooked.

So I went to do some stalking work (Following them on Instagram and Twitter)

I can't differentiate who's who because there is around 20 of them and I am really bad at recognizing people.

Harries was the first lifeguard I can recognize because apparently the TV keeps doing re-runs on the episode in which he propose to his wife. (Which i have seen thrice now)

He has one of the best laughs in the world. When he laughs, there is no way you don't laugh!

Since the show airs at 0740 every weekday morning, I can finish watching it everyday before i go to work.

One week in, I can recognize a handful (Deano, Maxi, Jesse, Kerrbox)

Maxi made a big impression on me in his fight against Anxiety and Depression.

So naturally, I drew him.

Its been a while...

   Right, so its been almost a week since my last post. I currently scored two interviews, one from Global Knowledge Network and the other from DreamWorks. Hmmm, im still trying to get in touch with Porsche, sending them report after report i have drafted daily but has garnered zero reply from them. A little demoralized at this point but i will persevere and continue sending in my daily mail and hope that they would simply give me a reply even if its a one word reply.
  So maybe i'm aiming a little to high, learning to run before i learn how to walk. Baby steps for me from now on, is that it? Start small and build it big.. Motivation level at all time low again. Dang, i have get back up soon.

Taking Action

I finally took action after so many months of being a couch potato!

On Saturday, i sent out my resumes to a couple of job listings that caught my interest! But erm, i didnt go do the additional things yet (like sending emails, setting up information interviews), will work on that tomorrow i guess...

Anyway, the Porsche design group in Singapore has an open internship position and im definitely going for it. I havent sent out my resume for this yet because i want to do this carefully. I really want this internship. I just sent an email to set up an information interview with someone that works there, fingers crossed that it gets accepted and i get to meet this person and if possible meet the higher ups in the company! Will keep your updated!!

If i get this intern position it will be the best ever start for my portfolio!

Sweet 2013... Or is it?

So, a blink of an eye and its almost end April. Time does fly, huh?

I got my A level results in early March, unfortunately they are not fantastic at all. It puts me in a position where i get stuck in between... The grades are not bad but not good enough sadly. I dont have the expected amount of As that everyone expects of me...

I do have one but its not really that important to people, considering its a H1 subject.. but im still  proud of it. I put in the extra effort and skipped from a U at the start of the year to an A. Impressive? It is to me.

Right, so im gonna tell you what happened and where i stand right now. Before i got my results, i convinced myself that i would become a fantastic senior physiotherapist in the future and earn $100,000/ year. Being a pessimist, i prepared myself for the worst, to get into physiotherapist course in Nanyang Polytechnic. Do my three years there and another year of degree conversion in Singapore Institute of Technology with the thought that i will get a hospital sponsorship for the entire four years. But the truth is, this is not my dream job at all! What was i thinking??? So i spent the entire month not applying for other Universities (except for SMU whom has yet to call me for an interview and i know that im probably already rejected.) because considering my results, the admissions offices would probably chunk my application aside and leave it rotting somewhere. Now i understand that its all psychology barrier, im the problem and because of that im left dangling.

To be honest, all Cs is just going to leave me hanging and right now, there's nothing i can do to salvage the situation i am in right now. So, what im going to do is plan ahead and go though this gap year positively. I have applied for online courses to enhance myself. I took up this course from Harvard University, entirely free of charge and completely online! Its part of this EdX programme, you should go check it out if you are reading this. No idea if it is going to help me in the future but right now all i want to do is to utilize this gap year as best as i can.

 Going to start working, establish my network connection, get in touch with a lot of people that can help me as much as i can help them. I dont want to start shotgunning for jobs, i want to start smart and plan ahead right? So im doing a lot of research this couple of days. I will land a job mid May, hopefully. Right now, my dream job is still obscured from me, i know i want to be in the business industry, or do i? :)

Okay onto my personal life, i am so into this TV show, Leverage, those who haven't watch it should! It is a really nice show, definitely heartwarming. A pity they discontinued the show after Season 5. Alright, so okay, im weird, i become a stalker after every show i really like, but again who doesn't?? Okay, maybe im the only weird one, like its true... Anyway, so i stalked the actors on facebook. And Beth Reisgraf is very friendly, in the show she portrays Parker and you will love her if you watch so watch it! :D Anyway, i actually pick up bits and pieces of advice from people over the web and i took up drinking Apple Cider Vinegar fom her, crazy? Yea, kinda...I also tried to drink a gallon of water a day because of her as well but to be honest, i probably only drink one third of that.. Oh yes, and Christian Kane from the show is an absolutely amazing country singer as well. Type thinking of you by him in youtube and be surprised.

This journal is long.... Dreary even. But i want to type. I said im weird ya?

My grandma passed away in February a couple of days right before Chinese New Year, felt hollow... Hope she's finally in a better place right now. My main aim right now is to try to get a job that is going to pay me at least $1000/ month. Im not a degree holder and am definitely in a huge disadvantage but im not going to let it get me down. I will land a job and i will show the people around me that grades do not define who i am. My actions do and i will prove it. This week research, research, research, narrow down job prospects and send out resumes this Saturday. Next week, hone in my interview skills if i score an interview go for it, it doesnt hurt and i could turn it down if im not satisfied.

From this few months, i learnt a lot.
1. Sitting around at home, sending out resumes and waiting with fingers crossed for a decent job to land on your laps is not going to cut it. It DOESNT work!!

2. DO not be a pessimist. Just go for it! Put yourself out there. Meet people! Email them or something for advice.

3. Be determined and stand out from other people.

So thats it, i will keep you posted with what i do next week! Hope i bring good news! Cheers!

PS: Im learning to hustle as well. Wouldnt hurt to get a few free drinks? Anyway, i look gullible, naive, people would never suspect. :) Dont worry, i hone my skills for proposition bets only, small money just enough to get some free food to get around!

  Hmmm, has it been a week? Anyway, i have one last paper before my holidays officially start! :D Anyway, here's the third and fourth WIP of the secret santa giftart for deviantart. Other than that, i dont think there's much to add? But Monday's my final paper and Tuesday's gonna be my prom! Kind of excited huh? :3

Adding in colors and shadow. The mare on the left is almost done except
her two hind leg's hooves and more shading required.

Made a little changes compared to WIP 2 such as the shadow on the ground instead
of grass, that kinda stuff.
Base Color is added really lightly so that I will have an idea
what I am going to be coloring.

 

This is done purely using colored pencils and 0.38 black gel pen for the lineart. I used a mixture of Derwent colorsoft and studios as well as Faber castell water colored pencils. Im not sure if this will turn out right....

Currently Playing: Assassin's Creed 2 *Finished AC III. Thought to go back to AC2 and play as Ezio again. :3

  So i had my braces out, hooray i think?! Hmmm.. Anyway i have been playing a lot and also working on the Christmas gift. Below's the second WIP which is a clean lineart that has been transferred onto better quality paper. I realized that it was probably madness to handle the entire background in such a short period of time and i really dont want to try something new and mess it up. So i kind of minimized it into that tiny window frame. I adjusted the eyes of both horses since it looked kinda funny in the previous WIP. Other that, i messed around with the mane and tail to get them to look a lil more messy and realistic. Other than that, thats all. Enjoy! And have a nice day!

Haven't been drawing for a long time!

  This year, i actually put my name in 2 secret santas.. Hope i dont get nothing like i did last year.. Hmmm..
Anyway, i have started work on one of the pieces. So instead of just one horse with partial background i decided to up the challenge and do two in a full background. i have no idea if i can finish it on time or i will just abandon it half way and start on a new idea because this seems like a hell lot of work... Anyway, the left horse is an american paint horse. Im a lil crazy bout them this year. They are just so pretty! Anyway the right, im not really sure? Anyway both horses 'belongs' to the original owner whom im not gonna state since its supposed to be secret. This is the very first WIP in which i did the entire sketch on printing paper and have not transferred it over to a thicker paper to work with. Background is courtesy of assassin's creed's 3 forestry background. Will be posting more WIPs for this and obviously the finished piece! So seeya around!

Its been a long time...

  Apparently this blog has been neglected for ages.. I have been busy, very busy with school and what not. Anyway, i dont even think anyone is watching this anymore, but still... My A Levels are finishing, the chemistry paper was a huge set back for me even though i have concentrated the bulk of my time on that subject... But the good point is that both econs and biology paper were relatively easy and manageable. (Which was comforting..) To bring anyone who is looking up to speed, i have been working on my art which has sort of stagnated in this 2-3 months?

*Steps
Add 2cm cube of reducing sugar (e.g glucose or even banana<=which contains glucose!).
Add equal amt. of Benedict reagent.
Boil using water bath.

Mixture turn green - yellow - orange - brick red percipitate

Add iodine to solution. Ensure that it covers the entire specimen.

*Steps
Add fat/oil to test tube containing 2cm cube of ethanol solution.
Shake test tube vigorously to dissolve liquid.
Add equal vol. of cold water.

Results if present
A white precipitate

Biuret Test =>Test for proteins
*Steps
Add 2cm cube of protein solution to a test tube.
Add 1cm cube of sodium hydroxide to solution and mix well!
Add 2 drops of 1% copper sulfate solution and mix.
No heating required.

Little update on my life.

Im feeling kinda actually really depressed today. I skipped lunch, my two great buddies had an art excursion and the three of my good friends went out to eat with someone i didnt really fancy so i didnt join them... So well, i settled with someone else. Lucky for me to have her, or i would have been alone. =( After which we went to ask Bio which was pretty boring.... So ya, im kinda depressed. My a math results aren't fantastic, like theres loads of careless mistakes.... So ya, im upset... Still i took some time to do up this note for my two buddies who want them, so here ya go.

Hiatus

Sorry for the inactivity but it really cant be avoided now that my exams are just a couple months away. So, i will keep this short since i have a math test next week. Just wanna tell your that i just watched the show inception. Hell of a show, great movie! For those who havent watch, you should really go and watch. =) I really liked the concept of the dreams, really amazing. ^.^ So well, this is short but hey gotta work right?! Seeya guys soon!

Long long time ago

Ok, so its really been busy down here. I got school tomorrow so i will keep it short. I just bought an electric piano. Yay for me. ;) Anyway, i finished my Maeya, if you remember her. But i changed it last minute, named her Estrella instead. Estrella is Spanish for star. I thought that fitted her. So here im gonna upload it. Thanks to Lierxii for the wonderful background coloring. =) Really stunning. Well, i got interested in Greek mythology of a sudden. Ya, woah, big stuff. Well, i really liked the god, Poseidon. He is great i mean, god of the sea and all that stuff. Water. I really love water. Well, i actually watched Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. Right.... So yea.... Ok...... Fine, i liked the Poseidon in there. =) So i plan to do a picture. A project to be exact. I plan to call it the Poseidon project. So i started on it, ok so im really onto drawing now. Don't be silly if you think i did really draw Poseidon human form. I suck at human anatomy, never really got into that. So i settled on something that is more familiar. You could have guessed huh? So wolf if it. =) Heres the brief WIP i did. Really enjoyable to do.

Estrella.

You could always spot the mistakes better when you see it uploaded. So i made amendments here and there.
The wolf's eyes looked mismatched but i fixed that already so was the contours on the face. The bull's right leg being too small = Fixed. =) Horse is perfect.
The wolf shall represent Poseidon. Poseidon is best symbolized by the trident which is marked on the wolf's right leg. And the horse and bull is likewise a symbol of the sea god. Thus the trio. The dolphins are also a symbol of him, interestingly. This will be an ongoining project throughout the year since i will only be touching it here and there at period of times so there won't be any confirmation when it will done.

busy, busy, busy

Right, second week of my holiday is almost gone. One of my wolf collaboration picture is under way. My part of it is done which is the lineart and coloring of the wolf. The other part is from Lierxii which is doing up the background. Really excited about this one. Loved how the wolf turned out. Right, so once Lierxii finished it all, i will get it scanned in and then get it edited on photoshop. After which, i will get it up on deviantart! Yay!

Well, so i have been a lil unactive at my blog here. I have been busy self-learning piano <= Thats pure dumb but hey i really want to play some Final Fantasy songs! *Learning To Zanarkard from Final Fantasy X right now. And i just got my first group up and running on deviantart, so theres a lot of administration work to do up there. And well, :#Just-Artists:

So... im bored

As promised, i have restarted to work on my half done wolf which is still half done, finished part of it yesterday and still loves how its coming out. If i finish the wolf i will pass it to Lierxi for the background paint job. I plan to get it done as a collabission but i don't know why its taking so long on my part. So, ya i have got back to coloring it again. ^.^ And i don't want to talk about the Biology SPA, its so horrible that i don't wanna even think bout it now. Anyway, thats over, not able to salvage it anymore even if i wanted to. Yup, so this is what i have been up to this days. Not very happy days but lets just say i have had better.
On the bright side, i have planned to take on self-learning piano lessons. I have half finished learning Serah's Theme, and is getting on to the Chocobo's Theme. I plan to learn My Hands, Ventus theme, Modern Warfare 2 Main Theme. Yup, basically im not sure about My hands and Ventus Theme yet since they are very tough. But i love it. =)

Heres a bookmark i did to get rid of all those stress due to the exams. Well, the quality is real bad on computer, due to the crappy scanner. =( Anyway, thats Snow Villiers from Final Fantasy 13 in wolf form with the engagement necklace.;) Gonna do the rest too. And good news is its for sale, for whoever is interested in it. Im doing an entire collection that includes you know the rest like Lightning, Serah, and maybe one on the baby chocobo on Sazh's head!

Oh and yup, i decided to add a quote at the back of every bookmark i did. The quote would be something that said that seems kinda meaningful. For this, i chose 'We have come too far to quit now.' Thats what Snow said to Serah when he discovered she was made a L'Cie. Great guy, huh. Must've loved Serah a lot, wonder if i could find a guy like him...

Didnt start on Lightning with her Eidolon Odin yet cause its gonna take a lot of time and i still have a lot of pieces in my storage box that i got to complete first. Can't abandon them half way round. Anyway heres a peek at what im thinking to start. Thats way bigger than what i can handle right now. Most probably after clearing up all my art pieces then i will start with this. That is in November and December period after my 'O' Levels are over.


*Bookmark is 15cm to 4.5cm. Yup, thats right. Plus laminated and done on Non- acidic paper that will not turn yellow. =)
I would hold on to them first so if you wanna buy them, you would have to wait cause i want all of them together before i sell them. It would contain: Lightning, Snow, Serah, Fang, Vanielle, Hope, Sazh, Dajh, all in wolf form and a bonus baby chocobo which of course is not in wolf form... =.= Yup, so thats it.

Each bookmark would cost S$2.50 per piece. Time put in 2 hours.

Right, so i have been a little naughty... I just went for a movie yesterday night... Ironman 2, really hilarious, worth the while. ;) And i kinda played yesterday... so i havent been exactly very hardworking... Well but c'mon! I killed 8 Adamantoise, a.k.a (the big bad tortoise)... 0.0 in final fantasy 13 that is. Well, im looking at my uploading video that seems to be going for eternity... I hope it loads ok so i can show your how i can kill one unsuccessfully and the other very successfully. Weird sentence but you get what i mean right? So i don't know if it loads ok... So it didnt work, that sucks.... Anyway i got a few photos i took.

Right, i took this pic during the process of getting back my TP for summon to kill Adamantoise which is just behind me. 0.0 This is at Eden. o.0 Ok, nvm...

Oh right, i kill Adamantoise by luck by spamming with Vanielle's Death ability. Takes a lot of time using sheer strength so spamming Death seems faster. Crystarium point is 80000 with growth egg on plus possible drop of platinum ingot that cost 150000 gil? I think so.... Kinda pretty lucky yesterday, killed 6 in one shot... 0.0 Wow.... And four today maybe gonna kill some later. ;)

Elixers?! You bet! But this elixers seems to be totally costly? Yup, saw them on sold but they cost a lot. I think? Or is it the one with trading figures that cost more? Anyway, who cares, i want the one on chocobo chick! Its so cute!!


Plus ok, so I really find Vanielle's voice irritating, the accent and all that is plus Hope... which is kinda hopeless until at the back when both become the most powerful spellcaster...=.= Damn! Why couldn't it be Lightning or Fang?! Seriously... Still, i like that picture... crap must be the angle... Anway, exam's next week, will not on for a while so see ya as soon as possible!XD

So, my results are not good, not one bit. Too be exact, it is actually horrifying...=.= My As are gone to be replaced by Bs and Cs and that is devastating! My Biology SPA O Levels is tomorrow and im kinda freaked out right now...
Anyway, a piece of good news is i purchased two Final Fantasy XIII posters!! Wootz!! ^.^ One is on Lightning which is totally cool and the other one is on Snow and Lightning. Its a square enix product so its no surprise that it actually cost 20 bucks for this two. But im glad i bought it, its the last set!^.^ So the quality of my camera's super lousy....Really bad quality due to the lighting but heres one of them which i put up. (Above) And the one below is the one on Snow and Lightning, plus my Mickey/Minnie puzzle. Now how did it get in the picture...=.=



AND my brother sorta almost completed the entire FF13 only left with 5-6 marks i think. Attacus is a complete bitch to those who know what im saying. After spending 15+ minutes to reduce his life to 3 million from 9 million, then he did a one shot on the party leader in my case Fang, instant kill..=.= Man the frustration... The second attempt, we managed to reduce it to 3 million plus life too nearing 2 million when it suddenly cast doom on the team leader, Lightning this time with the numbers going down super fast, instant death too i suppose.... Haven't killed him yet though... sigh. Tough guy.
